Meet the 3-boobed woman

A woman has spent $20,000 on surgery to get a third breast, and her dream is to become a celebrity.
The Florida massage therapist, who calls herself Jasmine Tridevil, claimsĀ she had the surgery a few months ago.
āIt was really hard finding someone that would do it, too, because theyāre breaking the code of ethics,ā TridevilĀ told Real Radio 104.1.
āI called like 50 or 60 doctors, nobody wanted to do it.ā
Tridevil said her extra breast felt like her other breasts, āthe only difference is the nipple,ā which she had to get tattooed on.
The 21-year-old saved up for two years so she could have the surgery, and is also paying for a film crew to follow her around.

āMy whole dream is to get this show on MTV,ā she said.
āIām dumping every penny I have into this. If this doesnāt work, Iām through.ā
Tridevil said that while she wanted fame and fortune, this was not why she had the surgery.
āI got it because I wanted to make myself unattractive to men. Because I donāt want to date anymore,ā she said.
She has been filmed telling her parents about the third boob and they were not happy.

āMy momĀ ran out the door. She wonāt talk to me. She wonāt let my sister talk to me. My dad ⦠he really isnāt happy ⦠he is kind of ashamed of me but he accepted it,ā she said.
While some have criticized Tridevil for chasing fame, others have described her as ābeautifulā and commented that she reminds them of the girl in the sci-fi film āTotal Recall.ā
āI love boobs, you have three, whatās not to like ⦠we all loved that girl in Total Recall, now your (sic) the real deal,ā said one follower on her Facebook page.
Experts said procedure ‘would have been refused by any ethical surgeon’

An American woman who claims to have paid £12,000 ($20,000) for plastic surgery to have a third breast has denied that the bizarre story is a hoax.
Alisha Hessler, aĀ massage therapistĀ andĀ part-time modelĀ who uses the name Jasmine Tridevil, said she asked more than 50 surgeons before finding one who would carry out the procedure.
The 21-year-old is filming a self-produced reality show about her life in Tampa, Florida, in the hope of getting a slot on MTV and her claims have gone viral around the world.
Online critics have pointed out that almost all of the pictures and footage of Miss Hesslerās āthird breastā appear to have been taken and uploaded to social media by her and little third-party proof is available.
SheĀ told theĀ SunĀ that her show will include footage of the operation as evidence.
āThis is not a fake, I had the procedure done,ā she added. āIf people don’t believe it, that’s up to them.ā
If the cosmetic surgeon who carried out the procedure is identified, he or she could be struck off the register for violating ethics rules.
The American Board of Plastic Surgeonsā code of conduct dictates that no operation must be carried out without āfull respect for human dignityā and procedures must āenhance the normā.
Dr Ash Mosahebi, a consultant plastic surgeon and member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, said it would be āabsurdā for any clinic to agree to add a third breast.
He added: āIt is our duty to ensure that patients are physically and psychologically in good health before undergoing any cosmetic surgery – a patient making this request would certainly sound alarm bells, which is why she would have been refused treatment by any ethical surgeon.ā
Dr Mosahebi warned that the addition of a third breast would scar a patient for life and could risk complications including symmastia, where the breasts become a single mass.
Referring to the triple-breasted woman in Total Recall, he said it was cosmetic surgeonsā job to educate against ābizarre requests patients dream up out of a science fiction movieā.
āThis story, if it is true, is a sad account of how a psychologically vulnerable patient could eventually find a surgeon willing to comply with a ridiculous request,ā he added.
Miss Hessler did not respond to requests to comment when contacted byĀ The Independent.
