According to reports, a tragic series of events occurred while 55-year-old Dmitry Ukhin was looking for his lost cat, Styopka, in the Kirishi district in the Leningrad region of Russia.
Dmitry found his cherished cat after two days of hunting and brought it home.
But the cat scratched him on the leg during this reconnection, which turned out to be potentially fatal.
Dmitry was left to deal with the problem by himself because his wife, Natalya, was not home when it happened.
Dmitry called a neighbor after realizing that the cut was more serious than he had first believed and that he was afraid for his life because his condition was swiftly getting worse.
Dmitry had contacted emergency services at around 11 p.m., according to a police source who spoke to local media.
Unfortunately, Dmitry was already dead when emergency personnel arrived.
According to a police source, “Around 11 p.m., a man called 112 to report that his friend was bleeding from his leg due to a torn vein.”
“The doctors who arrived only confirmed the man’s death, which the police received a telephone message about.”
According to the neighbor who gave Dmitry first aid, the situation might have become worse because medical help didn’t arrive right away.
The Mirror claims that Natalya verified these information in an interview with local media.
Natalya spoke of the household cat, Styopka, as a peaceful and amiable creature that loved to roam the outdoors but had never displayed any hostile behavior.
Dmitry was especially susceptible to excessive bleeding because of his medical issues, which included diabetes and a blood clotting disorder. This contributed to the terrible conclusion.
Blood.co.uk states: “Coagulation, another name for blood clotting, is a crucial mechanism that lessens bleeding when we are hurt.It occurs whenever a blood vessel sustains damage, whether it be from a minor skin abrasion or something more severe.
Damage causes a reaction in the blood vessel that activates the blood’s clotting factors (certain proteins) and platelets (specialized blood cell fragments), which cooperate to slow and halt the bleeding. When the injury has healed, the body will naturally dissolve the clot that has formed over the affected area.
As officials continue their investigation into the incident, Styopka’s fate is still unknown.
Medical examiners have yet to confirm the precise cause of Dmitry’s death.
